The U.S. National Whitewater Center (USNWC) is a non-profit, recreation and adventure facility for outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and abilities. Opened in November of 2006, the USNWC is located in Charlotte on approximately 400 acres of land adjacent to the Catawba River. The USNWC is an U.S. Olympic Training Site for Whitewater Canoe Slalom.
Activities at the USNWC include whitewater rafting and kayaking, a canopy tour, zip-lines, ropes courses, climbing, mountain biking, stand-up paddle boarding, hiking and eco trekking. The USNWC is home to the world's largest man-made whitewater river, with rafting and kayaking taking place on the system's two channels: the Wilderness Channel (Class II - III whitewater) and the Competition Channel (Class II - IV whitewater). A majority of the activities at the USNWC are offered via the AllSport Pass. The USNWC hosts a variety of special events, festivals and concerts throughout the year. Time Warner Cable Arena (originally Charlotte Bobcats Arena and commonly TWC Arena, or The Cable Box), is an entertainment and sports venue, located in center city Charlotte, North Carolina. Its primary use is as the home court of the Charlotte Bobcats of the NBA. It made its grand opening in October 2005 as the Charlotte Bobcats Arena, with a concert by The Rolling Stones and hosted its first Bobcats game on November 5, 2005. The arena's center-hung Daktronics video screen, known as "Bobcats TV", measures 16 feet by 28 feet—the largest of any indoor arena. Carowinds is a 398-acre amusement park, located adjacent to Interstate 77 on the border between North and South Carolina, in Charlotte and Fort Mill, respectively. The park opened on March 31, 1973, at a cost of $70 million. It is owned and operated by Cedar Fair Entertainment Company. The NASCAR Hall of Fame honors drivers who have shown exceptional skill at NASCAR driving, all-time great crew chiefs and owners, and other major contributors to competition within the sanctioning body.NASCAR committed itself to building a Hall of Fame and on March 6, 2006, the city of Charlotte, North Carolina, was selected as the location. Ground was broken for the $160 million facility on January 26, 2007, and it officially opened on May 11, 2010, with the inaugural class inducted the day following the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race XXVI. The new Hall of Fame brings hundreds of jobs and an increase in tourism to Charlotte. In addition to the Hall of Fame, the NASCAR Plaza, a 20-story office building, opened in May, 2009. The 390,000-square-foot structure serves as the home of Hall of Fame-related offices, NASCAR Digital Media, and their licensing division. Other tenants include the Charlotte Regional Partnership and Lauth Property Group. ImaginOn: The Joe and Joan Martin Center is a collaborative venture of the Public Library of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County (officially known as the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library) and the Children's Theater of Charlotte located in Charlotte, North Carolina. This 102,000-square-foot landmark learning center opened on October 8, 2005. ImaginOn was designed by Gantt Huberman Architects and Holzman Moss Bottino Architecture,and is owned by the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library. ImaginOn hosts the Spangler Children's Library; the Teen Loft, a library for the teens of Mecklenburg County; Time Warner Tech Central; the Story Lab, a collection of interactive multimedia workstations exploring the arts of narrative; Studio I, an audio/video recording and animation studio; the Hugh McColl Family Theater (seating capacity 570); and the Wells Fargo Playhouse (seating capacity 250), as well as administrative offices for the Children's Theatre of Charlotte and library staff. 9.)The Carolinas Aviation Museum

The Carolinas Aviation Museum is an aviation museum on the grounds of Charlotte/Douglas International Airport in Charlotte, North Carolina. The mission of the Museum is to educate the public about the importance of aviation to our society and inspire the next generation to excel academically in the areas of math, science, and history through the preservation of our aviation heritage. The Museum was founded in 1992 by Floyd and Lois Wilson, and has a collection of over 50 static aircraft and a wealth of smaller historic items related to aviation in the North and South Carolina. Most of the collection consists of Cold War military aircraft, including several historic jet aircraft from the 1950s and 1960s. Several aircraft came from the closed Florence Air & Missile Museum, Florence, South Carolina. A significant number of aircraft have also come from Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point and Marine Corps Air Station New River. The Museum also operates a number of flying aircraft, and with access to four runways, one over 10,000 feet in length, historic aircraft including the B-17, B-24, B-29 and Berlin Airlift C-54 have flown in to visit the museum from time to time. Bank of America Stadium (formerly known as Carolinas Stadium and Ericsson Stadium) is a 73,778-seat football stadium located on 33 acres of land in uptown Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. It is the home facility of the Carolina Panthers NFL franchise. It also hosts the annual Belk Bowl, which features teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference and the American Athletic Conference, formerly the Big East, and the annual ACC Championship Game through 2013. The largest crowd to ever attend a football game at the stadium was November 18, 2013 when a crowd of 74,225 watched the Panthers defeat the New England Patriots 24-20 during a nationally televised Monday Night Football game.
